Two Places to Shop for Unique Mother’s Day Gifts

Sometimes I feel like every time a holiday rolls around I’m dry on gift ideas. Better yet I don’t even know where to go to look for a gift! As Mother’s Day approached this year, I found myself stuck yet again on what to buy. While every mom loves flowers, I like to give something different…something unique. I also personally am not a huge fan of flowers since they tend to die quickly and I have way too many vases under my kitchen sink than I know what to do with (so imagine how mom must feel!) Well, fortunately, this year turned out to be a breeze and I found Mother’s Day gift ideas at places I never thought to consider checking out!

1. The local flea market

Of course, when anyone thinks of a flea market we usually think of used items. I personally love flea markets, yard sales, and thrift stores because you can find just about anything and at a good price. These stores are especially great for young individuals like me living on their own. Anyway, I was at the flea market on Mother’s Day and actually came across a little stand with creative vases, cups and bowls with expressions on them and the vases had crafted paper flowers inside of them. After speaking to the family working at the stand, I found out they own a small business making these crafts. I was intrigued because the craft was so simple yet unique.

2. Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

You may not think of a restaurant as a place to get gifts but the Cracker Barrel is different. One side of it is a store with an array of items. Shirts, candy, clocks, jewelry, kitchen items, photo frames and endless home decorations, I find myself having trouble not buying anything whenever I go! While there I saw they had created bags for Mother’s Day with candles and little home decorations, perfect for mom! Even if there isn’t a Cracker Barrel by you, they have an online store to shop.
