Activities to Enjoy This Fall in the South Jersey Area
Summer is winding down which means soon it will be time to pack away the swimsuits and beach chairs. But if you’re like many others (myself included), you’re anticipating the beautiful autumn season that follows. While each season has its perks, none quite like fall. There’s just so much to love about it: cooler air, beautiful leaves, Sunday football, Halloween, delicious foods and so many activities to enjoy. And if you’re looking for things to do this fall, read on for some great ideas for you and your friends and/or family.
If you’re a beer lover like me, you just go haywire when fall arrives because of the many delicious fall beers. For all those beer lovers out there you can enjoy a fall beer at one of the major craft beer breweries in Philadelphia.
Pumpkin & Apple Picking
Pumpkin and apple picking is a great fall activity and a memorable experience for families and couples alike. There are a number of farms in Jersey to choose from such as Johnson’s Corner Farm, Springdale Farm Market, and Creamy Acres Farm to name just a few. You can take a look at a full list of places in Southwest Jersey to go pumpkin and apple picking.
Peddler’s Village in PA will be hosting their Apple Festival on November 1 and 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in which you can enjoy apple pies, apple cider, apple fritters, caramel apples and more. There will also be pie eating contests and live music.
Haunted Attractions
There are a number of haunted attractions throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Night of Terror at Creamy Acres in South Jersey is one of the largest and scariest, offering six attractions. The Bates Motel in PA is another highly popular attraction where you can experience a haunted hayride and corn maze, and dare make your way through the haunted Bates Motel.
Host a Horror Movie Night
What’s Halloween without a good scare? Invite your friends over or make it a family night and enjoy a good old-fashioned movie night watching your favorite scary movies along with popcorn.
Bake, bake, bake!
Pumpkin pie, apple pie, pecan pie, banana walnut bread, marshmallow pops, pumpkin cupcakes, Dutch apple muffins…when it comes to fall baking projects, the ideas are just endless. Of course, it’s not autumn without apple cider and caramel apples, too.
Watch a Football Game
Another great thing fall brings is football. Make it a priority to watch a game, whether NFL or college football. If you attend a game, of course, you have to tailgate for it to be real. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with turning your living room into a football game day headquarters. Get your grill started and invite your friends and family over to watch the game together.
There are just so many reasons to look forward to autumn. What are you most excited about? Do you have any fun or exciting things planned?
