As we say so long to winter (not that she really made her presence known here in Jersey) and welcome the spring season, now’s a good time to freshen up your home by embarking on some spring cleaning.
I admit I look forward to spring cleaning. That’s because cleaning makes me feel good. It gives me a sense of accomplishment (I finally went through that huge pile of clothes on the corner chair), and it helps me get a little extra cardio in. Cleaning also helps reduce stress and minimize anxiety. Maybe you don’t care to clean at all but want something to do while social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition to cleaning, spring is also the opportune time to give your home a seasonal lift. I look forward to the changing seasons because I can decorate to reflect the current season. Spring is the season of new beginnings. The flowers bloom, animals awake, and the weather warms. There are many creative, cute, and affordable spring decorating ideas, too.
The downside to spring cleaning is how much time it can take, especially if you have a large home, a family, and a career. And don’t forget a home has two sides: the inside and the outside. Cleaning the outside is weather-permitting and spring is the rainiest season.
To help with your spring cleaning project and ensure you don’t miss a spot, follow this checklist that maps out each part of the home. Of course, you don’t have to follow each step, but this will help you tackle each room thoroughly.
Have you started your spring cleaning? What would you add to this list?
