Spring Spruce Up: Get Your Home Ready for the Season (Free Checklist)

I don’t know about you, but I am beyond ready for spring! While I do love winter and will continue to enjoy seasonal activities like skiing, I’m craving sunny days, warmer temperatures, vibrant flowers, and all the other joys that come with the season.

I’m the type of person who takes down the Christmas tree and packs away the holiday decorations just a few days after the festivities end. I like my home to reflect the current season and holidays, but the stretch between the end of December and the arrival of spring always leaves my space feeling a bit cold and empty. How do you decorate during this in-between time? Sure, there’s Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day, but they don’t exactly call for a lot of seasonal décor, and I won’t leave it up nearly as long as my Christmas decorations. So, I opt for year-round items like candles, pictures, wall art, throw pillows, and plants. I also love rearranging the furniture to give rooms a fresh new look.

But before I add anything new or move things around, I always start with a thorough spring cleaning. Honestly, I look forward to it! There’s something so satisfying about coming home to a sparkling house. I usually tackle it around this time of year since there’s less décor to move (at least no holiday items to contend with), and spring is still a month away, so I don’t have to rush to finish everything in one weekend. Starting early also gives me a head start on the busy spring and summer months.

To help you get your home sparkling for spring, I’ve put together a handy spring cleaning checklist. Depending on your home’s layout and design, you may not need to do everything on the list, but this infographic can serve as a great reference.

Have you started your spring cleaning yet? What would you add to this list? I’d love to hear your tips—share them in the comments below!

And while you’re getting your home in shape, don’t forget about your outdoor space! Spring cleaning isn’t just for indoors—it’s the perfect time to tidy up your yard, clean gutters, and prep your garden for the warmer months. Outdoor cleaning helps improve curb appeal, prevents damage, and creates a welcoming space for all those sunny days ahead.
