Spring Spruce Up: Get Your Home Ready for the Blossoming Season Ahead [Infographic]

I don’t know about you, but I am beyond ready for spring. While I do love winter and will continue to embrace it by participating in seasonal activities like skiing, I’m yearning for sunny days, warmer temperatures, colorful flowers, and everything else spring brings.

I am the type of person who takes down the Christmas tree and packs up the holiday decorations just a few days after the festivities. I have this thing about my home reflecting the current season and holidays. But the time in between the end of December and spring leaves my home feeling a bit cold and empty. How do you decorate for this time of year? Sure, there’s Valentine’s Day and Saint Patrick’s Day but those, to me, don’t call for a ton of seasonal decor and I won’t keep it up for nearly as long as Christmas items. So, I choose year-round decor like candles, pictures and wall art, throw pillows, and plants and flowers. I also rearrange the furniture to help rooms look new and interesting.

But before I move or add anything to my home, I give it a good spring cleaning. I have an itch to do it and I admit I look forward to deep cleaning my home since nothing feels quite as satisfying as coming home to a house that shines. I usually do it this time of year since there are fewer decorations (no holiday decor at least) to move and spring is still a month away so I don’t have to rush to get everything done in a weekend. Cleaning early also gives me a head start on the busy spring and summer seasons.
