Happy belated Mother’s Day! I hope that your day was well spent, whether with your mom, your children, or you took the day for yourself.
We spent the whole weekend celebrating Mother’s Day. Saturday, we went out to eat with our son and enjoyed brunch with gorgeous mountain views. We headed over to a fun plex to play arcade games and crane games (we actually won a giant stuffed animal!) and we played a round of mini-golf. Sunday, we headed down to Colorado Springs to visit The Broadmoor Seven Falls, which cascades 181 feet of seven magnificent mountain waterfalls of the South Cheyenne Creek. I’ve always been captivated by the natural wonders of the world, especially waterfalls. I appreciate their physical beauty and calming effects, and I was eager to see these incredible creations.
As we made our way up the 224 steps, we were astonished by the striking rock formations and breathtaking valley views. When we reached the very top, we took some time to take it all in. The views from the top are indescribable. And there we were, surrounded by nature. Nature…it’s truly something else.
Before visiting, we researched a little bit about the Seven Falls and learned that it made National Geographic’s list of International Waterfalls, the only one in Colorado to do so. It has been dubbed “The Grandest Mile of Scenery in Colorado” and is often referred to as “The Most Beautiful Canyon in the World.” I understand why after visiting, and the pictures of the Seven Falls I captured speak for themselves.
It’s not just the waterfalls that grabbed my attention. As you walk the 0.8-mile paved trail from the entrance to the base of the falls, you are surrounded by rock towers, flowing creeks, and tall, green pine trees. We stopped many times to adore the scenery.
If you haven’t been to the Seven Falls, it is a must-visit. If you have visited, share your experience in the comments.
Waterfalls are a relaxing, yet powerful gift of nature. Being surrounded by them and touching the water makes you realize that they are a metaphor for the natural ups and downs of life. That said, check out these 10 inspirational quotes about waterfalls and life.
