Two Fun Co-Ed Baby Shower Games

Two Fun Co-Ed Baby Shower Games

Back in January my brother and sister-in-law told me something I was yearning to hear – they were expecting. Words cannot describe how insanely happy and excited I was when I heard the news. A million thoughts ran through my mind. Will it be a boy or a girl? Did they think of a name? I hope they ask me to babysit. My nephew /niece and I will have so much fun. I can’t wait to start shopping for the baby!

Although at the time it felt like forever until I’d become an Aunt, time flew and we’re expecting a beautiful baby boy named Joseph Rand to make his debut in early October. When we found out it was a boy, it was time to start planning for the baby shower. Again, my mind went crazy with ideas. What are some fun baby shower games? What about prizes? What will they like? What should I give as favors? What will I buy as a gift?

Planning a baby shower is not only fun but takes time. I wanted to ensure that not only my brother and sister-in-law loved it, but the guests as well. Since they wanted a co-ed baby shower I had to think of unique and fun co-ed baby shower games. I’ve been to baby showers before and played the traditional “Baby Bingo,” “Never Say Baby,” and “How Well Do You Know Mommy.” I was interested in finding games that are more upbeat and games that both men and women would enjoy. Here’s what I came up with:

Cheers, Baby! Players were each given a sippy cup filled with beer and had to compete to see who could drink the fastest.

Diaper Derby: Each table was to pick one player to be dressed in a diaper with a roll of toilet paper. Once finished, contestants stood together and whoever received the loudest cheer from the audience won.

Prizes: I bought a pack of 10 chocolate cigars wrapped in blue tin foil that says “It’s a Boy” and a 24 pack of blue lollipops from Party City. I kept the game limit to two to make sure there was enough time to open the gifts as well as eat and chat. These games are not only fun but you also don’t have to spend a lot of money. The sippy cups I bought at the dollar store at 5/$1 so I purchased two sets so that 10 people could play. We had a keg at the shower so I filled the bottles with beer. And I bought a twelve pack of Target brand toilet paper for $4.

Choosing which co-ed baby shower games to play was challenging. There were so many games and I had to keep myself to a limit. I also had to ensure that the games would be fun and people would want to play. Who else can say they went to a baby shower and drank beer out of a sippy cup and wore a diaper made of toilet paper? You can search online and find a myriad of games. It took me a few days to finally settle on which games to play so make sure to give yourself enough time to pick the games and buy the accessories.
